#64 - God of Details

Vol. 64

The journey:
As I was walking from my parents' place back to my place, it began to sprinkle, and I began to pray, “Lord you know I forgot my umbrella, and I am carrying my laptop, please stop the rain, at least until I get back home!”
Well, the sprinkle turned into little pellets, hail, and I walked home without getting wet! YES. I thank HIM.

I rejoice in the God of details and in spite of my lack of preparedness, He provided for me.

I turned to my reading this morning, excited to spend time with Him in His Word: Judges 1-2:9. I began to read aloud, skimming over all of the names of people and cities, honestly jumping over the names until I felt God saying, Vid, you want to learn the heart language of Khmer yet you are not reading the names of my people/cities which I allowed to be written in My book; go back, slow down, and pronounce the names and read them. I have allowed them to be in this chapter so give Me the respect and read them carefully. So with apologies and tears, I reread His Word.

This is His Word to me, His Heart Language to me; before I learn another one, I need to be immersed in this One!
All God's details are important.
I am always learning...

Prayer requests:

- For the April 30th move for my parents, that the elevator booking would coincide with the helpers’ schedules who are giving up of their time to help with the move.

- That I would continue to grow deeper in Him.

#63 - A New Beginning

Vol. 63

Thank you for the many prayers that went up on behalf of my parents.

They are here and will be moving on May 1st to a more permanent place (one-year lease).

Cambodia update: I want to thank you for your patience. I am in the last stage of processing my return to Cambodia. For those of you who have supported me while at Place of Rescue, and wish to continue as I return to my land He has given to me, please wait on upcoming details!

Prayer requests:

- That I would use the time here He has given to me to learn what HE wants to teach me before I go back.

- For the moving day for my parents, that all the logistics will proceed smoothly.

- For a community for my parents in their new place, so that they can start ‘life’ and adjust to their new home.

Thank you for including me in your prayer requests, which is what community is all about!

Please keep on sharing and letting me know how I can pray with and for you!

#62 - Thanks!

Vol. 62

Update on your prayers! Thank you!
My parents are here in Toronto.
They came in safely yesterday! My gratitude to all of you who have prayed and helped in getting them settled in a temporary place!

Specifics:
Mom and Dad had extra luggage to bring, so they enquired about whether they were allowed to bring 5 extra bags and the costs involved. They were given permission and the costs stated were manageable. However, when they got to the airport, they were told that they had to pay $7000.00 TT!  The clerk at the counter was apologetic but said that was the amount when my parents queried the cost, thinking he had put one zero too many in the total costs! Nope, that was it! It would cost more than the ticket to come to Toronto!
Then an angel appeared in the form of my cousin. He is so humble that I know he would be uncomfortable writing about him but... he was the answer to smooth travels!
He talked to the agent and wouldn't you know it, all charges were waived! He then treated my parents to a sumptuous Trini breakfast!

My aunt and cousins all came to say goodbye to my parents. They finished well there, so thank you again for praying them through this last process in Trinidad.

Prayer request: One of the passengers opened the overhead bin in the plane and a bottle of whiskey fell down and missed my mom's head but hit her leg. It is swollen and the flight attendant iced and took care of her, and because of that, both my parents came in on wheel chairs, and everything was looked after for them in Customs and retrieving of the luggage. However, my Mom's leg is still sore. Pray as they adjust to the weather here!

My heart's desire is to learn the heart language of Cambodian. I have been privileged to sit and hear the stories of Miss Mae, Miss Norma, prayed with Grand mom Nettie, had brunch with Miss Dorothy, dinner with Miss Marcia, (I say Miss out of respect even though all of the above are Mrs.!!!), and as I listened I thought wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to do the same for the grannies and wonderful people in Cambodia?
To communicate...to pray...to laugh.... to listen.... in Khmer!
Pray for wisdom as we seek HIs will in this!

HE IS SO RISEN! INDEED! Let us dance to that!

Dancing to the beat of His heart,
Love, Sister Vidya

P.S. I would like to do a 'shout out' to my new pal Emily who I met at the Estee Lauder counter! We struck up a conversation and girl, as I told you, as I put on the freebie you gave me, I will pray that you are going into a church for Easter Sunday! HE so loves you and I thank you for making my day by sharing your story! And yes, you asked to be put on my mailing list so here goes...
