#56 - So far, so good! Thank you.

Vol. 56

Thank you for your prayers.

My brother and sister-in-law had told me to get here (airport) early because sometimes, if the plane is full, we would leave early!
Well, thanks to all of those who helped to get me here.

There were only 6 people in front of me at check-in. The guy at the counter asked if I would not mind to help in an emergency and I said I would LOVE to! (Yes, a bit too chirpy eh?)

So I got my legroom. The only thing I have to remember is to have my passport etc. with me when I have to fill out the details on the customs form since I have no place to put my purse!

Had no problem in checking in all of my stuff and just as I got to the seating area, this lady smiled at me and I beamed right back.
Then she said, "Hey, is it you?"
Since I was not sure who ‘it’ was, I just kept on smiling!
As it turns out, I am not the nurse from Mount Sinai hospital she thought I was, but that did not stop us from chatting for a while! (You Trinis would get this!)

AND apparently we are NOT leaving at 10:30 but at 9:15! So God has gone before me.
Thank you for your prayers.

Humbly your servant,

#55 - Urgent Prayer Request

Vol. 55

URGENT Prayer Request

Can you please pray for my Mom and Dad at home in Trinidad?
They have contracted the 'chicken' flu virus.
I just talked to my Mom and she is very sick.

There is no vaccine for this virus.
It makes you feel as if you have arthritis, aches in the joints etc.
Dad is now recovering from it but now Mom just contracted it.
The medication prescribed by the doctors down there is in short supply since the virus is hitting the island!
I contacted my doctor here and am taking medication for them.

I am grateful for the timing of this since I can be home to look after Mom and Dad. God knew this beforehand and has allowed me to be there.

Pray as I go through Customs that all will go smoothly seeing that I was in Cambodia and the customs officials (I am told by others) are checking passports carefully for exposure to the virus.

Blessed by your prayers. Keep sending me your requests. Internet may be sketchy or not available.

Thank you!

Humbly your servant,

Love, Sister Vidya

#54 -Part B- Prayer Requests

Vol. 54 – Part B

Prayer requests:

- That God would give me wisdom as I help Mom and Dad with the legal papers pertaining to the sale of the house. I need knowledge from above to know what to do.

- Strength as we pack up a house full of things accumulated over 10 years!

- Peace as we figure out together what has to go and what should be kept.

- God would provide the place here in Toronto for my parents.

How can I pray for you as well?
Please write your prayer requests.

To Him Be the Glory.

Humbly your servant,

#54 - Snowstorm

Vol. 54

Snowstorm.

There I was clambering over snowdrifts as I tried to find my way to the bus stop!

I got up at an early hour to go to my doctor’s appointment, and lo and behold, I woke up to the beauty of the snow, but trying to walk in it was a different story!

No snowploughs were there to clean the road yet and as the snow was still falling, residents had not yet shovelled the sidewalks!  But I loved it!!

You could fall in it and NOT get hurt!

I finally got to my appointment only half an hour late, (I had given myself 2 hours to get there), and as I walked into the beautifully decorated office, I just felt so warm and welcomed!

It was like walking into the arms of Jesus!

The Christmas decorations and the tree were a welcome sight. It said we are not ashamed to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ!

This was what I missed last year when I was in Cambodia. It is a Buddhist country and the Christmas trees and lights that you may find in some businesses are just décor without the true meaning of Christmas!

I had to make appointments for further medical tests and rather than do it by phone, I decided after praying to go to the Medical building and make the appointments face to face!
I was praying that I would get my tests done sooner rather than later since I am going home to Trinidad on December 22nd and will be there for a month with my parents.

God went beyond my expectations and I got ALL of my tests done that day! The snowstorm worked to my advantage since there were cancellations.

I prayed and asked for guidance. He sent 2 angels to show me the way.

Angel#1: The technician who did 3 of my X-rays and bone density test; so kind and warm.

Angel#2: The technician who did my mammogram was very nice and supportive; she knew that I had been to Cambodia from previous visits, so she knew I focus on the boys and girls who experience so much pain and hurt when I feel the pain of having a mammogram!

As I think of the sacrifice Our Lord made by coming down to earth as a Babe, giving up His kingly crown, so that you and I can have real peace and joy even in the midst of struggles, I want to thank all of you who have sacrificed your time and finances for me as we did His work for His kingdom.

I pray you get a chance to sit/dance/sing/ bake/skate/ski/, whichever way you are attuned to worship Him, to marvel at the majesty and glory of the Lord this Christmas season!

Have a blessed Christmas.
